Purdue University students who accept internships not only gain real-world experience in their chosen field but also make valuable contributions to startup companies with Purdue connections.
They apply classroom learning to real-world challenges to make meaningful contributions to startup companies. In return, the startups gain access to highly motivated, industry-ready talent who bring fresh perspectives, research-driven thinking, and immediate impact at a critical stage of growth.
We salute both the interns and the companies who invest in them by featuring these partnerships in this series.
MEET DEVANSH KEJRIWAL
Devansh Kejriwal from Mumbai, India, is a junior in the Mitch Daniels School of Business and John Martinson Honors College. He served as an intern at Amplified Sciences.
“My duties included marketing and social media content management (newsletters, press releases, LinkedIn posts and website updates), strategy and finance (researching competitors, researching areas of investment of large companies in the diagnostics space, creating a pitch deck for a fundraising round), and AI (researching AI tools to integrate in daily operations).”
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
“I learned about the internship with Amplified Sciences in my capstone course, ENTR 481, when Professor Susan Woods mentioned the opportunity through the Interns for Indiana Program.”
I believe that working with any startup is an invaluable experience because you are working directly under company leadership and actively contributing to the growth of the company.”

Previous Intern at Amplified Sciences
“I worked under CEO Diana Caldwell and John Ridge, the director of commercial and market access.”
“When I learned about Amplified Sciences, several aspects stood out to me. Diana’s leadership impressed me from the start, especially given her experience raising funding and scaling companies. Dr. Vincent Jo Davisson of the College of Pharmacy started the company, and his story and depth of knowledge were particularly inspiring.”
“The company’s mission deeply resonated with me as well. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest conditions worldwide, where 4 out of 5 people are diagnosed late and 74% die within one year of diagnosis. The team at Amplified Sciences was taking this challenge head-on, and I knew that I wanted to contribute to their solution to this problem.”
THE WORK
“My experience at Amplified Sciences was extremely rewarding because I was able to contribute to work that created real impact. I helped develop a pitch deck used in an active fundraising round and supported Diana as she presented it to investors. Each task, whether writing a press release, presenting research to senior management, or preparing a newsletter viewed by the Board of Directors strengthened my confidence. The consistent feedback I received from Diana each week also helped me improve and grow.”
The startup environment gave me a truly well-rounded experience.”

Previous Intern at Amplified Sciences
“I worked in marketing, social media, AI, databases, and finance. In a larger company, these functions would be separate departments, but at Amplified Sciences, I took on responsibilities across all of them. This exposure helped me build a broad set of skills and better prepared me for a wide range of roles after graduation.”
THE TAKEAWAYS
“I cannot stress the value of internships enough because they offer a unique chance to learn while working directly in the industry. During my internship, I gained a much deeper understanding of how companies and startups operate, as well as how the healthcare industry functions. These are insights I could not fully learn in a classroom.”
Internships allow you to learn through real experience, develop practical skills, and strengthen your abilities.”

“Purdue-related companies like Amplified Sciences make this even more meaningful. Purdue University and the Purdue Research Foundation consistently produce strong research and innovation, and PRF’s internship programs give students direct access to those opportunities. I am grateful for the experience because it was my first official internship, one that I earned on my own. I met incredible people, learned more than I expected, and carried those lessons into both my academics and future career. It was truly an opportunity I will always appreciate.”
“I would also like to thank Patrick Francis from Interns for Indiana for his support throughout the program.”
