Purdue Strategic Ventures recently announced a follow-on investment in Ixana in light of their accelerated growth and significant traction in both the defense and commercial sectors.
Ditch the business cards and trade contact information with a fist bump. That’s what most of us first think of when introduced to Ixana’s groundbreaking “Body-Internet Platform”. But that’s just the start of what this Electronic Nervous System tech can offer.
Ixana offers a fundamentally new wireless technology designed from the ground up for the performance of wired communication with the convenience of wireless to the defense industry, consumers and beyond.
Ixana, founded by Purdue University Prof. Shreyas Sen along with co-founders Dr. Angik Sarkar and Dr. Shovan Maity, has created a revolutionary wireless technology called “Wi-R.” This innovation confines wireless signals around the body’s surface, offering unparalleled security and efficiency compared to traditional wireless technologies like Bluetooth.
Purdue University faculty Shreyas Sen, a Elmore Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, had been contemplating how people could eventually use touch and thought as a replacement for screens. But it was outreach from a member of the Purdue Innovates Office of Technology Commercialization — which supports the patenting and licensing of Purdue technology — that gave Sen and his ideas a fast track toward development and funding success.
The company’s rapid growth is evidenced by a strategic alliance with OTTO Engineering, a leader in tactical communications equipment, multiple yet-unannounced contracts in the defense sector and partnerships with several electronics companies that are household names.
“What we’ve achieved so far is merely scratching the surface. At Ixana, we’re not just creating a product; we’re pioneering a revolution in human-computer interaction. Our vision is to see our Wi-R technology embedded in every device around you, fundamentally transforming how we connect with and through technology. We’re building more than a company – we’re shaping the future of human digital interaction,” said Shreyas Sen, founder and CTO of Ixana.
The additional capital from Purdue Strategic Ventures will allow Ixana to expand operations, develop new features and enhance security measures, particularly as they continue to forge partnerships within the defense industry.
“We’re looking for passionate, forward-thinking professionals who want to be at the forefront of transforming human-computer interaction,” said Dr. Angik Sarkar, co-founder and CEO of Ixana. “If you’re excited about shaping the future of technology and want to be part of a groundbreaking venture, we want to hear from you.”
As Ixana continues its rapid growth trajectory, the company is expanding the team. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit Ixana’s career page or email us at hello@ixana.ai.
