The future is connected, but how we collectively plug in isn’t always so apparent. Enter ClearBlade: providing an IoT platform “capable of pretty much anything” that bridges the gap between physical devices and software, fundamentally revolutionizing the way buildings cities and whole industries operate. Their fully managed service easily and securely connects, manages and ingests data from globally dispersed devices and offers a replicable, scalable platform.
“We’re the connective tissue of Intelligent Infrastructure,” explains Eric Simone, CEO of ClearBlade and Purdue computer science alumnus. “Rather than building from scratch, we provide foundational software that creates a unified platform, seamlessly linking various physical components together.”
The ClearBlade IoT & Edge Platform delivers AI, edge-native computing, and extreme flexibility, empowering operation teams to get things done fast. ClearBlade’s Intelligent Assets provides an application layer — a connected digital twin — enabling non-technical roles to monitor, command, and control their devices. ClearBlade can link physical devices and intelligent infrastructure like that being developed at Simone’s alma mater Purdue at the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure. Building a system that uses machine learning to optimize resources is no simple task, particularly with increasingly complex networks.
Simone admits when ClearBlade started it felt like a David and Goliath story, going up for contracts against tech giants like Google, IBM and Microsoft. But it’s clear now: the team is on a path to stratospheric success. The company was even tapped by Google in 2023 to take over its clients as the company depreciated its IoT core, demonstrating Simone’s strategy of “we don’t have to beat them, we just have to do better” is clearly working.

Purdue Strategic Ventures recently completed a follow-on investment in the company. Danielle Salters, the principal at Purdue Strategic Ventures who led the investment process and executed the follow-on investment, explains why ClearBlade was an obvious choice for not one but two investment opportunities. “Clearblade proved its resilience through challenging markets for fundraising and for its customers. Through difficult times, Clearblade was able to enhance its product offerings, acquire key customers and emerge the market leader in productized IoT. We are excited to continue our support for Clearblade’s journey.”
By bridging the gap between physical hardware and software, ClearBlade can pave the way for a smarter, safer and more sustainable future. With every device connected, ClearBlade solidifies its position as the connective tissue of intelligent infrastructure, driving towards a future where connectivity, efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand.
