Haiyan Wang Purdue is an engineer whose innovations have led to both significant scientific impact and commercialization efforts. She specializes in high-temperature superconductors, coated conductors, nanostructured functional ceramics for solid oxide fuel cells, plasmonics and photonics, ferroelectric and multiferroics, radiation tolerance materials and bulk structural metals and ceramics.

Her work supports industry innovation, developing and strengthening materials like ceramics and ultrahigh-strength aluminum alloys.

Wang holds numerous patents in the areas of thin film processing and architectures, some of which have been licensed to companies to bring these innovations to market.
