Parkview Health planning new hospital and medical office building in West Lafayette

July 31, 2025

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The community will soon have more convenient access to high quality health care services with the announcement that Parkview Health plans to develop a new health facility in the Purdue Research Park.

“We are pleased to welcome Parkview Health to the Purdue Research Park to build its full-service hospital, which will support the growth of the park and the broader community,” said PRF President and CEO Chad Pittman. “Parkview brings a comprehensive vision for delivering high quality health care at scale in West Lafayette, and we look forward to them becoming a vital piece of our live, work, play community.”

The proposed hospital, a $200 million investment, will include up to 40 inpatient beds and a variety of services including a 24/7 emergency department, surgical and procedural services, specialty care, lab and imaging, a comprehensive suite of outpatient services, and shell space for future expansion.

Many of the primary and specialty care offices are expected to be available prior to the full hospital opening in 2028.

“We are grateful for partners like PRF, Purdue University and the city of West Lafayette for working with us over the last several years to make this hospital a reality,” said Dr. Greg Johnson, chief physician executive of growth markets, Parkview Health. “These community leaders shared our vision to meet the growing needs of Tippecanoe County, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Parkview’s high-quality care to another Indiana community.”

Driven by the growth and activity in Tippecanoe County, including SK hynix’s historic investment in West Lafayette, new amenities like Parkview’s full-service hospital are meeting the growing need for medical services in the community.

The future site of Parkview Hospital will be located near the intersection of Yeager Road and Kalberer Road in the Purdue Research Park adjacent to the future site of SK hynix.

“The need for medical care close to campus has been a long-time goal for the university,” said Mitch Daniels, Purdue president emeritus and chair of the PRF Board of Directors. “Parkview is an ideal provider to bring an emergency room and additional medical services to our fast-growing university environment.”

Parkview Health is a not-for-profit community health care system serving Indiana and Ohio. The West Lafayette facilities will become Parkview’s 23rd primary service county across both states.

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in 2026, with a targeted opening in 2028.
