How did you first get your start at Purdue?
I first got to know Purdue professionally by working with Vic Lechtenberg while I was at the IEDC. My first role in the ecosystem was as vice president for the Office of Technology Commercialization for PRF in 2014.
As you begin this new role, what priorities or initiatives are most important to you?
To pull from Miracle on Ice, "I play for Purdue." I'm playing for team Pan-Purdue and I want to ensure PRF is aligned on our top-line mission of tech commercialization, real estate, and Purdue's endowment. All to support Purdue.
What's one thing you want people to know about PRF?
We exist to ensure the incredible human talent in the Purdue ecosystem realizes its potential. As I said frequently on my recent strategic trip to Taiwan, jiā yóu, literally "add gas" — an expression of encouragement and support. That's what the PRF team does for Purdue.
What's one thing you want people to know about you that they might not know?
I am blessed to spend my work life on noble missions, enabling the cure to cancer, deep space exploration, and more. But I never want to confuse activity with productivity. We work to be able to spend time doing the things we like with the people we love.
