Does your industry have a problem that could be solved with data? Aerovy can help.
Aerovy is helping global companies unlock the full potential of their hardware through cutting-edge software. Many hardware companies build products packed with sensors, but most of that data goes unused. Without the right tools, it’s nearly impossible to turn raw sensor readings into actionable insights or software experiences for customers. Aerovy provides those tools, giving hardware-focused businesses a way to collect, understand, and act on the sensor data coming from their machines in real-world environments.
The company was founded by CEO Nick Gunady and CTO Thomas Chen, both Purdue University graduates. A Purdue Strategic Ventures portfolio company, Aerovy was founded as a spin out from the Purdue School of Aeronautics and Astronautics with Purdue-licensed technology with Dan DeLaurentis as an advisor.
The all-in-one platform for universal hardware intelligence, Aerovy enables OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to move beyond selling machines and create intelligent ecosystems — enabling cutting-edge AI, asset management, telematics, and maintenance operations all from a single, secure platform.
“Aerovy was founded on the simple idea that without good data, it’s incredibly hard to solve pain points or scale a business,” said Gunady. “Many companies have impressive physical equipment, but they may be missing the digital infrastructure or intelligent application layers to manage, optimize and scale their operations. By developing on Aerovy’s platform, we can not only help them use data more strategically but even open up new revenue streams.”
One such application emerged with Inventus Power, experts in designing and manufacturing advanced lithium battery systems and power solutions. The global company supports OEM vehicle electrification initiatives worldwide and recently developed a retrofit program to help accelerate the adoption of e-scooters throughout Indonesia. Utilizing the robust Aerovy platform, Inventus Power was able to implement software solutions to not only oversee its battery ecosystem for the motorbike retrofit kits, but also deploy a consumer mobile app, enabling entirely new services, businesses and revenue streams.
The international connection was forged by a shared desire for growth — and Boilermaker heritage. Inventus President and CEO Patrick Trippel earned his bachelor’s from Purdue.
“Our partnership with Aerovy extends our offerings beyond hardware intelligence into IoT-based, cloud-connected software solutions,” said Trippel. “By unlocking actionable data, we can enable advanced battery and vehicle capabilities tailored to OEM needs through robust enterprise-grade infrastructure, advanced platform capabilities and next generation hardware intelligence.”
Alongside investments from Purdue Strategic Ventures, Aerovy has recently raised capital from Quorum Capital Partners and Mudita Venture Partners, as well as additional angel investors who bring a wealth of experience to the team. “As we dug into Aerovy’s capabilities, it became clear their unified data fabric could facilitate optimization throughout the product lifecycle,” said Greg Howard, GP at Quorum. “By providing data infrastructure and systems intelligence for new hardware launches, while also unlocking upgrades for legacy fleets, Aerovy can serve hardware companies from inception to enterprise scale.”
