Jessica Huber’s research focuses on speech motor control, Parkinson’s disease, communication disorders, and neurorehabilitation. She created SpeechVive, a device that uses a reflex to improve communication for people that have Parkinson’s disease, one of the most common degenerative neurological diseases, developing the technology based on her research to improve communication and the quality of life in older adults and people with degenerative motor diseases.

SpeechVive Inc. commercialized the Purdue device to help the more than 1 million people in the United States who are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
